Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Service Location
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Support Workers to join our children’s residential service in Bradford. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting vulnerable children and young people, helping them build resilience, achieve positive outcomes, and feel safe and valued.
About the Role As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide direct care and guidance to children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. You’ll act as a role model to junior staff, support the Registered Manager in daily operations, and contribute to a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans
- Support children in developing life skills, emotional regulation, and positive relationships
- Lead shifts and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the home
- Mentor and support junior staff, promoting best practice and consistency
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care reviews and planning
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and respond appropriately to incidents
- Build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
Essential Criteria
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and behavioural support
- Ability to lead by example and support team development
- Excellent communication, empathy, and resilience
- Willingness to work flexibly, including sleep-ins and weekends

Pay: £28,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
