About The Role


Purpose

Provide administrative support to the SIPP transfers team, to ensure timely transition of client assets in to 7IM. Responsibility for processing new transfer instructions and chasing cases with counterparties to ensure transfers complete in a timely manner. Work with the Transfers team to track and report on assets in transfer and ensure adherence to Service Level agreements, liaising with colleagues and third parties to follow up and update on progress.

Responsibilities

  • Check and process transfer requests received from 7IM relationship management teams, liaising with third parties regarding settlement and inputting instructions into Pershing NEXUS system
  • Be the first point of contact for internal and external escalations, acting promptly and professionally to resolve any issues.
  • Communicate with counterparties, fund managers and custodians to manage the smooth and timely transition of client assets to and from 7IM
  • Efficient tracking and reporting of assets in transfer using the Transfer Tracker system, providing clear and relevant updates to enable the client (internal and external) to monitor progress of the transfer
  • Management of SIPP transfers mailbox, post and telephone queries
  • Process transfers through our electronic reregistration systems – Altus and Origo
  • Monitor reports and systems to check for receipt of funds and assets, process cheques for the custodian to apply to the accounts
  • Receiving transfer cheques in to 7IM, cross checking information, updating the system and passing to cash management team for processing
  • Process payments to clients and third parties in relation to transfers out of 7IM
  • Ensure adherence to internal and client operational procedures and controls
  • Training and mentoring new members of staff in the team
  • Maintain relationships with third party administrators, Fund Managers and custodian
  • Treat clients (internal and external) and colleagues fairly and adhere to the 7IM mission and tenets.
  • Maintain relationships with other 7IM departments.

About You

Knowledge

  • 1-3 years of Pension and SIPP experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of Pershing NEXUS system is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of asset transfer process including unit trust, CREST, foreign and cash movements
  • Knowledge of Electronic reregistration, Altus and Origo is an advantage

  • Accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Organisation and prioritisation skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) in order to deal with queries received via telephone, email and face to face, and to ensure responses and updates are both clear and relevant
  • Ownership and initiative
  • Understanding the importance of treating customers fairly to deal with any issues that occur promptly and efficiently
Qualifications
  • Completion of the CII certificate in pensions administration (FA2) would be an advantage
Other relevant information
  • Reports to the SIPP transfers Squad Leader.
  • Subscribe to 7IM’s Mission and Tenets and Treating Customers Fairly initiatives.
  • This role works closely with others within the team sharing the workload and responsibility so a ‘team’ attitude is needed – helping others when required.
  • Flexible attitude to duties as the role requirements may evolve to meet changing demands within the team. The successful candidate may undertake training to provide holiday cover to other areas within Operations.
