As a Senior Packing Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising the packing department operations, ensuring that products are packed according to quality standards, efficiently and on time. This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail, ensuring that all packing processes comply with company guidelines and safety standards.
The rate of pay is £16.37 per hour, £654.80 per week, £34,049 per year plus opportunities for over time, paid monthly.
Duties:
- Ensure all products are properly packed and comply with safety standards, including preventing foreign body contamination, maintaining temperature control, and ensuring that weight tolerances and quality specifications are met.
- To ensure complete traceability for all packed products.
- To effectively manage and coordinate labour to ensure departmental duties are completed within required timeframes.
- To oversee and facilitate continuous staff training and development.
- To maintain compliance with GMP standards at all times, including adherence to maintenance and segregation requirements.
- To ensure proper stock rotation and effective management of partially filled boxes.
- To ensure timely product dispatch through effective coordination with the Goods Out team, manager, and dispatch manager to meet customer orders.
- To identify and report any performance or training issues to the Packing Manager.
- To oversee the packing shed operations and promptly report any issues.
- To ensure that health and safety audits are conducted by the relevant staff and any issues are addressed promptly.
Requirements:
- Basic maths skills for measuring, counting, and calculating
- Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Experience in food manufacturing highly desired
- Experience in a packing department (desired)
- Leadership in a business department (desired)
