We're looking for someone who is experienced in planning, managing, and prototyping games. Someone who has been instrumental in shepherding a game through its lifecycle. Your primary focus will be on crafting engaging systems that support the overall gameplay experience with an emphasis on puzzle/adventure game design.

General Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of delegated areas or entire projects, including planning and breaking down work.
  • Understand dependencies across teams and disciplines, and how they relate to broader project milestones.
  • Review designs and tasks related to assigned projects to ensure the highest quality product.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, representing the company professionally.
  • Contribute to the design and refinement of key game areas and mechanics.
  • Collaborate with other designers to create scalable systems and features.
  • Lead iterative design processes, including prototyping, concepting, and testing.
  • Define and document game systems, feature sets, and scope with scalability in mind
  • Mentor Junior and Mid-Level designers to foster team growth.
  • Develop, test, balance, and pace level-based content to enhance player experience.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in game design, with at least 2-3 shipped titles.
  • Proven ability to design scalable and progressive gameplay systems, especially in puzzle/adventure genres.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of the gaming landscape and modern gaming trends.
  • Familiarity with the Unity game engine; experience with other engines (Unreal, CryEngine) is a plus.
  • A collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a creative team.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High level of attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A deep passion for gaming and an understanding of different genres and game types.
  • An interest in playing and analysing games, particularly puzzle and adventure games.

Advantageous Experience

  • Experience working in puzzle or adventure game design.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Console/PC development experience.
  • Level design or game scripting experience.
  • Understanding of C++ or C# programming languages.
  • Experience managing others or leading a creative team.
