SEND Learning Mentor
NJC Grade F, Point 6-7
Actual £19,026 - £19,329 (FTE £25,183 - £25,584)
32.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year
We seek to appoint a SEND Learning Mentor to support in maintaining high standards of student attendance and punctuality to lessons. Whilst attendance is in line with the national average, it continues to be a whole school priority and we are always seeking to improve key students’ engagement with our whole school learning environment. This role will be about re-engaging SEND students with the classroom and supporting them to attend lessons successfully.
Interested candidates will ideally have a good knowledge of Social, Emotional, Mental Health and SEND and prior experience of school attendance procedures and processes, however, whilst experience with attendance procedures would be an advantage, this role may also suit those with experience as a teaching assistant or other relevant areas such as LAC and Pupil Premium.
This role will be incredibly fulfilling but equally as demanding. We require someone who has strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate in a patient and resilient way, whilst smiling and remaining positive throughout. You will be part of the Learning Support Team and line managed by the SEND Provision Lead, but will liaise with the attendance team and teaching staff.
This is a permanent post. The hours of duty are 8.10am – 3:10pm for 4 days and 8:10-4:00pm one day a week to support with homework club, (including a daily unpaid break of 40 minutes) term time plus training days.
If you feel that you are the perfect candidate for the above role, or you would like more information, we would love to hear from you.
