Job Title: Second Climber (with potential to progress to Lead Climber)

Tree Surgeons in South London Ltd are seeking a competent and motivated Second Climber to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with the skills, work ethic, and ambition to progress into a Lead Climber position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out climbing and aerial tree work, including pruning, reductions, dismantles, and removals in line with industry best practice.
- Assist the Lead Climber in daily operations and take responsibility for climbing tasks where required.
- Undertake groundwork duties including rigging, chainsaw operation, and chipper use.
- Follow and implement all RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) to ensure safe working practices on every site.
- Maintain equipment to a high standard and report any issues or faults.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
- Engage respectfully with clients on site, representing the company with professionalism.
- Show a developing capacity for leadership, supporting the team when needed and demonstrating initiative to step into a lead role in the future.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in arboriculture.
- Hold the first four NPTC qualifications (CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39).
- Strong knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and professional manner with both colleagues and clients.
- Good work ethic – reliable, punctual, and dedicated to high standards of work.
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Additional arboricultural qualifications.
- Ambition to grow into a Lead Climber role with leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Pay: £130.00-£170.00 per day
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
