School Counsellor
Part Time - 2.5 days per week, (18 hours) working hours pattern to be confirmed, term time only (plus staff training days)

Salary: Grade 4 salary band FTE - £30,723 - £40,989 pa (£16.41 - £21.90 ph); Pro rata £12,178 - £16,248pa

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, empathetic, and dedicated School Counsellor to join our outstanding pastoral team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the leading school for girls in the North of England, and to become part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) - the largest network of independent girls' schools in the UK.
The successful candidate will bring:
A Post-Graduate Diploma or Masters level qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy (preferably in Children and Young People's Counselling)
Professional accreditation (BACP, UKCP, or BPC)
At least one year of post-qualification experience, including work with children and young people
A deep sense of empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity
Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
A high level of emotional resilience, integrity, and professionalism
The ability to work collaboratively within a team and uphold strict confidentiality
A strong commitment to supporting the emotional wellbeing and personal development of all pupils
A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential.
