Job Summary
The School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment throughout the school premises. This includes classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff rooms, communal areas, and entrances. The role is essential in supporting a healthy learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Work is carried out in line with health and safety guidelines and school policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out daily and periodic cleaning tasks as directed (e.g., dusting, vacuuming, mopping, emptying bins).
- Clean classrooms, toilets, staff areas, kitchens, and communal spaces.
- Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet rolls as required.
- Ensure all surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly, particularly high-touch points.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Lock and unlock doors/windows as required (if part of shift responsibilities).
- Follow colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
- Adhere to school safeguarding and confidentiality policies at all times.
- Assist with deep cleans during school holidays or as directed.

This school cleaning vacancy is for 2 people , working Monday to Friday -2 hours each a day , total of 10 hours each a week .
Deep cleans are required in the Christmas-1 week /Easter -1 week/ Summer holidays - 2 weeks
Job Type: Part-time
