Hours of work – 7:30am to 5:00pm Mon to Fri every 2nd Sat 8am to noon

Summary of the Role
We are currently recruiting a Trainee Salesperson to join our sales team in an already well established and highly respected building merchant. The successful candidate will work within a team to manage and maintain our existing client database. A good knowledge of building products and timber would be advantageous however training and development will be given. Excellent customer service is required to generate new business and manage existing customer base, dealing with customer calls, emails and assisting at the trade counter when required. Responsible for producing orders raising quotations and following up.
Ideally will have strong account management skills, be proactive, enthusiastic, ambitious, hardworking, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities.
Selling a range of timber and building products including; fencing, flooring, cement, slabs, posts, nails, screws, etc. Predominantly dealing with inbound traffic via telephone and email and establishing strong relationships Generating and sending off quotations for clients Accessing dedicated customer bases encouraging repeat business Reactivating lapsed accounts promoting new product ranges Aiming to increase average order value Sourcing non-standard products and negotiating prices Chasing new business Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets Supporting the external and internal sales teams where possible Take personal responsibility for own work performance and present a positive image of the company
Skills that are required for the role.
Personal organisation and Standard of work Excellent customer service skills, will put the customer first, focusing on finding solutions for them and building trust. Able to communicate effectively at all levels Ability to achieve and exceed sales targets. Excellent telephone manner with the ability to influence and build rapport quickly with our customers whilst offering great service
