Job Advert – 2x Retail Assistant (Part-Time, 14 Hours/Week)
Location: Norton TCG (84b High Street, Midsomer Norton, BA3 2DE) with occasional cover at Bath TCG (4 Victoria Buildings, Lower Bristol Road, BA2 3EH).
Hours: 14 hours per week (see below).
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time.

The Role
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Retail Assistant with a passion for customer service. You must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, and proactive.
If you already have an interest in Trading Card Games, Board Games, or related hobbies, that’s a bonus – but it’s not essential.
This role involves lone working, so applicants must be at least 18 years old. Flexibility is key, as your shift pattern may change from week to week depending on business needs.
Hours & Availability
This is a 14-hour contract made up of:
- One 6-hour shift, and
- Two 4-hour shifts.
Available Shifts:
- Monday 12:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday 10:00 – 14:00
- Thursday 10:00 – 14:00
- Friday 10:00 – 14:00
- Saturday 11:00 – 15:00
- Sunday 10:00 - 16:00
You will normally be allocated set days, however shift patterns may vary from week to week depending on business needs. In addition to the shifts advertised above, you may be asked to cover other hours not listed, such as evenings (e.g. 17:30 – 21:30), when required by the business.
Responsibilities
- Greet and serve customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Work independently to run the shop during your shifts.
- Operate the till, handle payments, and process transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming store environment.
- Assist with deliveries, restocking, and merchandising displays.
- Support the wider team by covering at our Bath TCG store when required.
- Publish social media posts
Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- At least 18 years of age (due to lone working).
- Ability to work independently with self-motivation and initiative.
- Reliability and flexibility with shift patterns, including occasional unlisted shifts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in stock handling or merchandising.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and card transactions.
Nice to Have:
- Interest in Trading Card Games, Board Games, or related hobbies.
