Job Role: Resettlement and Integration Worker
Salary: £25,235
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Kingswood
Additional information:
- Travel across South Gloucestershire is required so a driving license & access to your own car is essential.
The Role:
This role is working within our Refugee Resettlement team. You will be supporting and empowering individuals and families that are resettling in South Gloucestershire. The support you provide will need to be client-centered and tailored to each individual's needs, including access to healthcare, education, housing, benefits and meaningful occupation. Within the role you will give families the knowledge and tools to be fully independent in their lives in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Take a lead professional role in coordinating multi-agency support around the individual or family, including organizing and leading meetings between the individual or family and the professionals supporting them.
- Provide support and guidance through a drop-in arrangement at community and other sites.
- Support families to access schools, English classes, suitable housing, welfare benefits, healthcare and wellbeing services, employment and training
- Carry out, within reason, any other duties necessary to achieve the smooth running of the organisation and undertake other organisational duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.
- Support families to apply for benefits, understand their finances, and manage their income/expenditure
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
- Experience in undertaking assessments and support plans
- Language skills in Dari and Pashto (Desirable)
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of Refugees who have experienced trauma and who have complex needs
- Willingness and ability to work flexibly with very occasional evening and weekend work
- A strong and clear understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and safeguarding
