The School
This role will be situated in the Criminology department, which forms part of the School of Human and Social Sciences within UWL.
The Role
In supporting the principal investigator in this project, the key responsibilities of the Research Assistant include:
- Conducting a literature review
- Organising interviews with prisoners, by contacting the prison governors and seeking permission
- Transcribing and analysing interviews
- Managing links with third sector providers of support (i.e., chaplains, charities)
In addition to the above areas of responsibility the post-holder maybe required to undertake any other reasonable duties relating to the broad scope of the position, commensurate with the post, and in support of the University.
The Person
The successful candidate must have:
- A first-class degree in Criminology / Psychology
- Excellent academic writing skills
- Experience in Thematic analysis
- Reliable and organised
- Independent worker who pays attention to detail
