We are looking for people to perform the words at legal marriages and civil partnerships at licensed venues across the city of Doncaster. You would be working on a casual ‘as and when’ basis, the requirement being mainly on Fridays and Saturdays. This could range from a few hours on a Saturday to a full day. Availability for other weekdays is also preferable but not essential.
You will need to have experience of working in a frontline customer service organisation and first-class communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a legal framework. You need to be a confident and articulate public speaker and have excellent attention to detail. Some of the licensed venues are not accessible by public transport so the ability to drive is essential.
We are offering casual contacts and payment for attendance at ceremonies is on a sessional basis, which includes travel. Hours of work vary and are in response to the needs of the service with summer months being our peak for weddings and civil partnerships. Your flexibility and availability are therefore crucial. Work will be rostered in advance but can be subject to change at short notice.
Building on an existing, well developed team, we are looking to appoint new Registration Officers to join the Registration Service.
This role offers high profile and satisfying work arranging birth, death and marriage registration appointments, citizenship, marriage and civil partnership ceremonies and generating historical copy certificates.
There is also the requirement to perform and register civil marriage and civil partnerships at approved premises across the borough.
You must have excellent communications skills, be compassionate and empathetic, have very good attention to detail, be smartly presented, confident and hold a full Driving Licence.
