About The Role
We are actively recruiting Female - Part-Time Rehabilitation Assistants - (10 hours per week) to join a brand-new care team assisting a male client with:
· Ischaemic Stroke
· Impacting speech, memory, cognition, and overall communication
· Epilepsy
· Reduced mobility
Residing in his own home in Bedfordshire with his wife, he requires supervision for personal care, as well as reminders for medication, dressing, and daily living tasks.
A full manual driving licence is essential, as you will be driving the client’s vehicle.
Support Worker Responsibilities:
You will:
· Work on a rota basis, including weekdays and weekends to cover day shifts.
· Support this gentleman to maintain his independence by assisting him in all aspects of daily living, both at home and in the community.
· An interest in football or outdoor activities would be beneficial, as this gentleman leads a very active lifestyle.
· Work collaboratively within a dedicated support team.
The shift times are as follows:
- Day shifts: 7.30am – 5.30pm (Monday to Friday)
- Day shifts: 8.30am – 6.30pm (Saturday & Sunday)
- Flexibility to cover an adhoc night shift when required
- Flexibility to support with holidays away from home
What we are looking for:
We are looking for trustworthy, reliable, encouraging, and dependable individuals. You should:
· Be a strong team player.
· Be capable of working independently using your own initiative.
· Be proactive, confident, and adaptable in different situations.
· An understanding of communication support and cognitive rehabilitation is preferred but not essential.
· An outgoing and active personality is desirable, along with a respectful approach to the client’s needs.
Strong English communication skills are required and being registered on the DBS update service would be an advantage.
Rates of Pay: Up to £16.50 per hour upon successful completion of competencies and training.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check WILL be required.
