Applications are invited for the post of Regional Intelligence Support Officer – Counter Terrorism Policing Wales (CTP Wales).
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Surveillance Team within Counter Terrorism Policing Wales based in Bridgend as the Regional Intelligence Support Officer. The unit deals with the Pursue strand of the National Contest strategy and deals solely with covert surveillance, contributing to the CTP Wales mission of working in partnership to keep Wales safe from Terrorism and the fear of Terrorism.
The successful candidate will form part of this small, highly specialised team, providing nationwide support to the CT network. The core role involves the provision of pre-deployment, and live-time, intelligence support to the team whilst also supporting other CTP departments as and when required.
The postholder will ensure the activities conducted are undertaken in accordance with standards set by the Home Office, National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), College of Policing and other policies concerning those activities.
Due to the nature of the work undertaken by the team the successful applicant must also be prepared to work flexibly, with short notice shift changes where required to accommodate National demands.
This post requires the successful candidate to successfully complete Vetting to MV/SC Level and DV (Developed Vetting) Level.
The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections.
It must be stressed that this is in addition to Developed Vetting or Force Management Vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.
Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to undertake a further security induction for which British citizenship is required. Failure to hold citizenship would preclude persons for applying for these positions.
Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis
