About us

The Church of England is a cornerstone of national life, with a presence in every community through its network of parishes. Organised into 42 dioceses, each led by a Bishop, it plays a vital role in enriching lives across the country.

The Diocese of York covers North and East Yorkshire, including the cities of York, Hull, and Middlesbrough, as well as two National Parks and the beautiful Yorkshire coast. With nearly 600 churches, 125 schools, and 442 parishes, we are a vibrant and diverse Christian community led by Archbishop Stephen Cottrell, with York Minster as our spiritual heart.

We are currently renewing our vision through Living Christ’s Story, a strategic initiative focused on deepening discipleship, growing missionary communities, extending our reach, and reshaping our structures and finances.

We are seeking a Reception and Database Assistant to join our friendly and committed team. This is a key role at the heart of our diocesan office, combining front-of-house reception duties with the management of our online contact database.
