Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Quality control operative to assist with all aspects of QC on our products. This includes the assembly of manufactured fittings and the test/inspection of lamps and fittings. Your daily duties will be:
· Assist with the assembly of BELL Manufactured fittings
· Assist with product rework, ensuring work is done to customer specification
· Wiring and assembly of electrical components
· Electrical, photometric, mechanical and physical test and inspection of delivery, production and supplier lamp and luminaire samples
· Following through test and inspection failures with the QC Team Leader, ensuring additional test samples are acquired and appropriate resolution is applied through the Bond and SCAR process
· Production of BELL manufactured products and point of sales displays, assembling electrical panels and customer specified lighting products
· Build, test and maintain test equipment and test racks, ensuring electrical compliance is maintained
· Ensuring all relevant test equipment being used is within its calibration period
· Ensuring relevant test records are maintained and legible for the life of the product plus 7 years
· General housekeeping
· Identification and reporting of potential hazards to the QC Team Leader
· Fulfil any other duties required to effectively carry out duties outlined above, or as instructed by
· To provide assistance to the Warehouse department when required
· Ensuring that the assembly area is kept clean & tidy
· Ensuring that all equipment is used in a safe manner and safety guards are used Inspection, test and failure analysis of warranty returns to component level
Key Objectives
As a Quality Control Operative, your key objectives will be:
Complete all works orders, accommodating any urgent requirements
Ensure all assembly jobs are completed ready for despatch by their assigned despatch date
Ensure all Container shipment products have all applicable photometric, safety and regulatory tests and inspections completed within 5 days of the container being unloaded Ensure all LCL shipment products have all applicable photometric, safety and regulatory tests and inspections completed within 2 days of the shipment being unloaded.
Skills & qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Operative to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working in Quality Control or Production Planning experience
Experience of working with electrical wiring installations
A good understanding of reading diagrams, with the ability to read and follow technical instructions and wiring diagrams
High attention to detail, and accuracy in managing and recording information
Able to follow instructions, but competent working unsupervised
Able to communicate and collaborate effectively on a technical level with other departments
Works safely within a technical environment, including safe use of hand and power tools
Basic understanding of electronics, electricity and safe working practices, including wiring and testing electrical equipment, plugs and electronic circuits
