Salary Band: £32,000 – £40,000 (Band 5/6, depending on experience and pro-rata on 44.6 week contract)
Location: Illuminate AP – Onsite/Offsite at RESET Secondary Provision
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Purpose
The BRIGHT Programme Coordinator will lead the development, delivery, and day-to-day operations of the BRIGHT Programme: a 12-week structured outreach and reintegration pathway designed for students navigating key educational transitions. This includes supporting students with SEMH needs transitioning into, between, or out of formal education.
The role combines curriculum implementation, trauma-informed practice, and operational oversight to ensure young people build resilience, independence, and readiness for their next steps.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination and Delivery
- Lead the daily coordination and implementation of the BRIGHT Programme across outreach and on-site settings.
- Deliver a creative and nurturing programme that blends emotional regulation, relationship-building, and academic readiness.
- Ensure curriculum fidelity across the 12-week structure, adapting content for individual student needs and context.
- Oversee delivery of key tools including Safe Hands Charts, Transition Books, Visual Timetables, and Regulation Toolkits.
- Monitor and review student progress through weekly reports, three-weekly reviews, and final transition plans.
- Support the development of the Personal Support Passport for each student, identifying effective strategies for regulation and crisis recovery.
Staff and Outreach Team Leadership
- Supervise outreach mentors and sessional staff delivering the BRIGHT curriculum.
- Lead staff briefings and debriefs, embedding trauma-informed and nurturing practices in delivery.
- Coach and mentor staff to confidently support emotional development and safe transitions.
- Oversee rota planning and deployment of staff to meet student needs across sites and outreach visits.
Student Support and Transition Planning
- Develop and review personalised Transition Toolboxes for each student.
- Support students in managing change, building emotional literacy, and preparing for new environments.
- Lead structured transition visits with students and key adults to new schools or settings.
- Model and embed calming and reframing strategies to reduce self-sabotage and build confidence.
- Maintain regular 1:1 check-in, especially during the critical first and final weeks of the programme.
- Embed AQA’s into student’s personal support plans.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) within the BRIGHT programme.
- Write and review child-specific risk assessments, safeguarding plans, and incident reflections.
- Ensure all staff are briefed and compliant with safeguarding responsibilities and procedures.
- Liaise with social care, schools, and families regarding concerns and progress.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication
- Build strong relationships with referring schools, families, and professionals to align support.
- Lead regular case reviews and update stakeholders through reports and review meetings.
- Represent Illuminate AP and the BRIGHT Programme in a professional, empathetic, and proactive manner.
- Support the referral process and help identify students who would benefit from BRIGHT.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation
- Oversee the consistent completion of attendance logs, behaviour tracking, and milestone reviews.
- Coordinate the production of transition success reports, highlighting strengths and recommendations.
- Contribute to strategic planning, development of resources, and evaluation of programme outcomes.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience working with young people with SEMH needs, ideally in outreach, AP, PRU, or SEND settings.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a track record of coordinating student support.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and nurturing approaches.
- Confident safeguarding practitioner with up-to-date knowledge of legislation and thresholds.
- Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, evaluate, and lead tailored interventions across multiple settings.
Desirable
- Level 3 DSL qualification and experience attending multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
- Experience of writing and delivering student transition plans.
- Relevant Level 5+ qualification in youth work, education, social care, or related field.
- Driving licence and willingness to travel to homes, schools, and partner settings as required.
