Job Title: Team Leader
Department: Production
OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To support the production Cooridinators whilst leading your team to deliver high quality products against production targets. Maintaining hygiene standards and continuously drive improvement within the workplace.
MAIN DUTIES
· To manage a team of operatives and ensure clear communication with all team leaders.
· To ensure the weekly production programme is produced on a daily basis to instructions issued by the Production Coordinators
· To work closely with your team to maintain the high standards of finished products at all times to the standards which are specified by Quality Control.
· To be able to set and operate equipment / machinery in manufacturing products whilst adhering to all food safety requirements. Maintaining process weight controls and minimising product giveaway.
· To ensure you provide training to your team and they are fully trained, competent in their particular duties, understand their responsibilities and objectives.
· To ensure your team have a full understanding of the risks when dealing with allergenic products during manufacturing, responsibilities, and written processes.
· To ensure that staff are adhering to safe working practices set out from health and safety.
· To ensure any machine faults are reported immediately to a machine Setter or production Coordinator.
· To ensure all machinery, equipment and, environmental areas are clean at the end of each shift. Ensuring all cleaning equipment is returned to its correct place.
· To ensure all daily production documentation is accurately completed and returned to the office at the end of the shift.
· To liaise with Production Coordinators to ensure machines are changed in time for production to minimize down times.
· To maintain good working practices and discipline within your team with the assistance of the production supervisor.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
· With a minimum of 1 years’ experience at factory supervisory level
· Good level of education GCSE Grade C or above, in English and Mathematics
· Excellent attention to detail
· With an ability to multi task and drive your team forward
· Be confident leading a team
· Have a flexible can do attitude
· Must be able to work to deadlines
· Knowledge or understanding of BRC and HACCAP and working within the food industry
39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (7:30am to 6pm)
Please note; this is a physically demanding role, requiring consistent manual handling and standing for long periods of time, and requires the successful candidate to operate the production line as well as lead the team.
On weeks consisting of a Bank Holiday Monday, you are required to work Tuesday to Friday.
