We are currently seeking a Press to join our growing team — someone who takes pride in producing precision sheet metal formed components along with various other shop floor duties.
Bowson Engineering is a family-owned business specialising in bespoke sheet metal fabrication, proudly based in Stoke-on-Trent. With decades of experience and a strong reputation for high-quality craftsmanship, we specialise in the in-house production of hobby craft kilns and a variety of custom products including benches, hoppers, frames and more.
About the Role:
Working primarily with thin sheet metal (1mm–6mm mild steel, stainless steel), you will be supplied engineering drawings to create accurate bends of folded components for various different productions and ensuring tolerances are met. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a hands-on, practical approach. 1+ Years experience required – Bystronic Press Experience preferred. Forklift license preferred.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Operating a Bystronic Press Brake
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to fold jobs
- Setting up tooling, adjusting machine settings, and programming bends as needed
- Quality checking and ensuring bends meet specifications
- General sheet metal work
- Operating various fabrication equipment, such as:
- Guillotine
- Steelworker
- Pillar Drill
- Nutsert tool
- Bandsaw
- Power Rollers

Working Arrangements:
- Monday to Thursday 6:55am to 3:55pm, Friday 6:55am to 12:55pm – overtime may be available depending on workload
- 28 days holiday entitlement including bank holidays
- Rate of pay between £14.00 - £15.00 per hour
