Pre-School Nursery Practitioner SENCO - Term Time Only
We are looking for a motivated and experienced practitioner to join our family-run Outstanding team.
You must hold a recognised Childcare Qualification to apply.
We currently have a full or part-time position available, term-time only.
Come and join our amazing team, working across 3 of our Outstanding Pre-Schools, based in Old Woking. We have been awarded Ofsted Outstanding over many years and are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking person to join us.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety are promoted.
- Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children.
- Create and implement activities that meet the individual needs and interests of the children.
- Keep records of key children’s development and share progress with parents, carers, and relevant professionals.
- Work as part of a supportive team to provide a high-quality learning environment.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents to support children’s learning and development.
- Follow nursery policies and procedures to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Participate in out-of-hours activities such as training, staff meetings, and occasional fundraising events.
- Support children with additional needs, ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times.
- Assist with meal and snack preparation, ensuring mealtimes are a pleasant and social experience.
- Ensure any accidents or incidents are recorded correctly and communicated to parents.
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Additional SENCO Responsibilities:
- Support the early identification and intervention for children with possible additional needs.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members on best practices for supporting children with additional needs.
- Work closely with external agencies to ensure the best support is provided for children requiring additional assistance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of funding opportunities and additional support services available.
- Ensure the nursery is an inclusive environment that meets the needs of all children.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other supporting documentation.
- Work alongside the Manager to ensure all staff are equipped with knowledge and skills to support children with additional needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and obtain necessary permissions before making referrals for children who may need additional support.
- Act as an advocate for children with additional needs, ensuring their welfare, development, and learning are prioritised.
