About the Role

The role of the Practice Supervisor in MAST is integral in driving performance, embedding best practice, quality assurance, the application of consistent threshold and working closely with multi-agency partners to support the day to day functioning of the team. The team is committed to ensuring children and their families receive the right support at the right time, using a range of solution focussed, strength-based relationship practice models, including Signs of Safety, Systemic theory and the Family Finding approach. You will be responsible for effective practice through supervision of Social Workers within the multi-agency screening team, ensuring safe and family focussed decision making at the front door Families in accordance with Children and Families’ Policies and Procedures.


Key Responsibilities

To promote and quality assure high-quality, child centred social work focussing on the right support, at the right time, in the right place by drawing on legislation, practice guidance, procedures and research.

To chair Group Screening meetings held with partner agencies to consider information available and the most proportionate next steps.

To chair Multi Agency Child Exploitation Meetings considering risk and disruption to promote the safety of children who are being or are at risk of being exploited.

To develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, other professionals, and external agencies, promoting a multi-agency approach to service delivery.


About the Team

The Multi Agency Screening Team was created in Oct 2014 and now consists of Social Workers, Social Work Managers, Early Help, Business Support, North Yorkshire Police, Safeguarding Health professionals and North Yorkshire Probation. MAST also have strong links with Emotional Wellbeing Services throughout North Yorkshire.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

A fully qualified accredited social work professional status, social work experience, understanding of the Signs of Safety model and thrive in a fast paced office environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, children, and their families.

A 'can-do' attitude, with a willingness to think creatively and outside the box when planning interventions.

Experience of leading professionals and supporting social workers within practice.
