Clinical work includes daily ward rounds in paediatrics and neonates, accurate and timely documentation on the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner), liaising with tertiary specialties by phone and email, leading resuscitations and stabilising critically ill children and neonates prior to transfer to other tertiary units for on-going care, prioritising the clerking, examining and managing of all patients in the extremely busy paediatric emergency department, as well as leading clinical shifts in paediatrics, in the paediatric emergency department (PED) and on the neonatal unit, out of hours. The post-CCT role is ideally suited to those doctors wanting to build on their excellent clinical skills and experience, in an environment where they will be supported to step up and develop further as a clinical leader.
