Are you looking to make a real difference in your next role? 3C ICT, the Shared IT Service for Cambridge City Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council, is seeking a motivated and organised Portfolio Support Officer to join our dynamic team.
As Portfolio Support Officer, you’ll provide critical business and administrative support to the Portfolio Delivery Manager, Programme Managers, and the wider Project Management team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including business cases, risk registers, decision papers, and financial reports
Managing administrative tasks such as preparing meeting documents, reports, and minutes for the Board and other stakeholders
Collaborating with ICT teams and officers across our Partner Councils to provide project assurance, while also assisting services with capacity planning and scheduling
Assisting with financial administration – raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and managing recharges and income invoicing for clients and contractors
Administering and helping to develop project management tools, systems, frameworks, and processes to aid our project management service to continue to be the best PMO service across the partnership
Ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of project information to facilitate informed decision-making and maximise return on investment for our partners
Undertaking on-the-job learning and formal training, with support to gain project management and leadership qualifications.
About you
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in providing business support or project administration in a fast-paced environment (public sector or IT experience desirable but not essential)
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to work independently
An understanding of local government services is an advantage.
