As a Play & Youth Work Assistant, you’ll help deliver fun, creative sessions for children and young people aged 5 to 19 in outreach locations such as village halls and Traveller sites.
Hours of work:
- Mondays, 3:15pm to 5:15pm at Justin Park, Market Harborough as part of our Travelling Forward Project
- Alternate Tuesdays, 6.15pm-9pm in Market Harborough assisting at our Young Carers Group.

You will also be required to attend bi-annual training sessions and thrice yearly planning and supervision sessions
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a positive, motivated individual who is passionate about supporting young people. If you enjoy working with children and young people, this could be the perfect role for you. We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience working with children and young people aged 5-19, in either a voluntary or paid capacity
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with young people from diverse backgrounds
- A willingness to work flexibly and travel to various outreach locations
- An understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and equal opportunities
- A commitment to inclusive, anti-discriminatory practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist a Leader in the delivery and review of activities for young people
- Ensure sessions are safe, inclusive, and fun, supporting young people’s development
- Carry out risk assessments and respond to any emerging risks during sessions
- Work closely with the team to ensure smooth delivery of sessions
- Communicate young people’s learning and progress to the team as required
