Job Description
Our client, a well-established company operating in the aggregates and materials sector, is currently seeking a Plant Operative to join their busy site near Shepton Mallet. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced operative to become a key part of a dynamic and safety-focused team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of plant machinery including Bobcat (Skid Steer Loaders) and Telehandlers
- Assisting with the loading and movement of materials on site
- Carrying out daily checks and basic maintenance of machinery
- Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
- Supporting site operations and other tasks as required by the site supervisor or manager
Requirements:
- Valid Bobcat and Telehandler tickets (essential)
- Previous experience working in a quarry or aggregates environment is desirable but not essential
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and undertake overtime as needed
