We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Planning Advisor in our Force Planning Department. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

  • The Planning Advisors work as part of a close-knit team at Unit 3, Bridgend Industrial Estate, Bridgend
  • The office hours are between 0800hrs and 1800hrs; Monday to Friday
  • All Planning Advisors are part of an On-Call rota, which includes shift and weekend working
  • The team are responsible for event planning from start to finish, working at the direction of Police Commander, to deliver safe and efficient events.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of resourcing and deployment for all South Wales Police events and officer deployments out of force
  • Day to day work involves planning, preparation, implementation and review of operational, emergency and civil contingencies plans.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  • Good knowledge of current legislation including Working Time Directive and

National Policy relating to Operational Planning

  • Experience of operational planning and events resourcing
  • Must have or work towards a comprehensive understanding of the assets required for specialist mobilisations
  • Must have understanding of Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Programme (JESIP) principles
  • Must have or be willing to undertake training in:
    • Multi Agency Resilience and Training & Exercise
    • ‘Starting out in Civil Contingencies’
    • 4x4 off-road, trailer training and basic police driving standards
