Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy regulations. You will play a crucial part in patient care by providing essential support to pharmacists and ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring correct dosages and instructions.
- Assist pharmacists in medication administration and patient care activities.
- Maintain an organised inventory of pharmaceuticals, including stock rotation and expiry date checks.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns regarding medications.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining accurate records of prescriptions and patient information.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills as a Pharmacy Dispenser.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and patient care principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
