Aim: To provide flexible academic support for a learner receiving home education package
Location: At the learners home in Little Bookham, Surrey
Frequency: Days TBC.
Duration: Role starting from September onwards
Extra Info: In person tuition required. This learner will be resuming to receive tuition at home, and will not be looking to re-integrate into a school setting at the moment. This role will be supporting her alongside a team of educators providing various subjects. When she was in year 5 she suffered from a brain injury. As a result of this she struggles with concentration, fatigue and memory/information retention. Fatigue is the biggest barrier, so tuition and intensity of sessions should be considerate of this and adaptable each time.
She is very good at masking her emotions therefore it is important she feels comfortable with the tutor. She is very bright and aiming to sit the higher papers for GCSEs, so we are looking to assist with improving her competency within each subject. She has multiple hobbies & passions for example - Horses, cooking & the gym.
Role expectations:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the learner’s individual needs and learning goals
- Provide regular engagement reports and track academic progress
- Create and use differentiated resources to support a range of learning styles and abilities
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and consistent learning environment in line with safeguarding guidelines

Aim: To support a learner not based in school with core subject tuition
Location: At the learner's residence in CV5
Frequency: 2 hours a day - 5 days a week
Duration: Ongoing
Extra information: This role is not suitable for online. This learner does have an EHCP with diagnosis of ASD. They are currently not attending school as school cannot meet need. The learners triggers are other students and so 1:1 is the ideal situation to help this learner. The learner is academically capable and reading at a 13.8 year old. The family are very supportive and experience working with looked after children would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Tailor sessions to meet the needs of a learner with a complex profile
- Use trauma-informed and pupil-led approaches to foster engagement and progress
- Build strong, supportive relationships with the student to encourage confidence and participation
- Track and report on progress, adapting plans as needed to ensure continued development
Essential Requirements

- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Self-employed status and right to work in the UK
- Availability during weekday daytime hours
