JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Pastor, Language services (Yoruba) & Director of Operations/Church Administrator
Purpose of post: To oversee pastoral care, prayer, volunteer services and discipleship and provide coordination for our language services and in particular the Yoruba service and all ministers serving in that area. The Yoruba service Pastor is to be a shepherd to the church family, with the central purpose of spiritual growth, maturity and physical welfare.
As Director of Operations and Church Administrator they will act as the main point of contact for all administrative functions. The post holder will undertake the effective management and co-ordination for a range of supporting duties to the Senior Pastors, including the handling of sensitive and confidential information.
He / She will oversee the day-to-day management of the church functions, ensuring effective delivery of the charity’s services & will have an oversight of church office and offering volunteering system.
Reporting to the Senior Pastors for all job duties and functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct a comprehensive ministry of pastoral care for all church members and regular attendees.
Supervise an assimilation process for people new to the church.
Provide pastoral counseling. Coordinate the provision of ministerial support for members. Encourage visit in hospitals and in homes.
Support with overseeing naming ceremonies, weddings, birthday celebrations, bereavement services and other related matters as it relates to Yoruba service.
Participate in other functions as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Coordinate with other pastors as needed, and serve as liaison, as may be appropriate, with lay leadership.
To attend Leaders/ workers training and other meetings as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to speak both the English & Yoruba languages fluently and be able to translate from one to the other. (Ability to speak one other Nigerian language is desirable though not mandatory)
Ability to relate and communicate one-on-one and in small groups.
Ability to conceptualize and implement programs.

Administration Department Policies & Procedures Section
Main Duties of Church Administrator Role:
Have a strategic overview on church operations and functions, in aligns with the vision of the Senior Pastor.
- To ensure all aspects of church operations are effective and functional.
- To manage the establishment and maintenance of efficient office systems including filing, information, retrieval, best practice office and information systems.
- Be the point of contact with Central office on administrative issues.
- To have proposal and budget discussion meetings, mid-year review and end of year review meetings with leaders.
- To have regular supervision sessions with system coordinators and leaders.
- To ensure collation of reports and advice the senior pastor on issues.
- Oversee the annual budget.
- Liaise between the pastor and ministers, leaders and head of ministries in regards to their duties.
- To prepare standard letters and memorandums as required.
- To manage, monitor and supervise the performance of office staff to ensure optimum utilisation and to deal with all personnel related matters including recruitment, procedural matters etc.
- To ensure agendas are produced for meetings, ensuring they are received on a timely basis, if necessary attend and make sure minutes of the meetings are taken by PAs.
- To manage the church calendar, keeping a log of all planned church events.
- To support professional development of the church policies and vision.
- Work on Special Projects from time to time as directed by the Senior Pastors.
- To ensure confidential information received is handled discreetly and sensitively and maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all HOP functions.
- To liaise with and disseminate relevant information to various ministry departments regularly.
- Oversee all HR functions for the organization.
- To perform all other relevant Church administrator work and other duties as assigned by leadership.
Office management & Other Duties
- To provide a high level of quality service and ensure the smooth day-today management of the office and staff.
- To supervise staff, acting as team manager to members of staff.
- To monitor, review and report on the delivery of services.
- To develop church policies for staff and volunteers and managing day to day implementation.
- To represent the church at external meetings, promoting the church’s interest, aims and objectives.
- To manage and co-ordinate overall day to day office related activities and develop and maintain an environment that engenders motivation and effectiveness of employees.
- To manage admin/IT volunteers who come to the office during weekdays/evenings.
- To oversee the management of a database for HOP comprising of members information, events information and other related activities.
- To oversee the management and maintenance of petty cash for office and hospitality.
- To oversee the development of HOP website and ensure it is maintained with up to date and relevant material.
- To provide support for volunteers where required.
- To assist with producing the Church bulletin, newsletter and announcements. • To assist in the design and distribution of HOP publications.
- To act as a first point of contact for external and associated organisations, responding to enquiries and giving a positive image of HOP at all times.
- Prepare wedding or naming programs when requested.
- To fully participate in team, committee and corporate meetings as required and as assigned.
- To contribute to the wider planning of Church programme as required
- To perform all other relevant Administrative work and other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Skills and Experience
- Good education to master’s level – MBA or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage staff, systems and processes.
- Experience of conflict resolution and people management.
- Expected to work without supervision and on their own initiative.
- IT Literacy in the use of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint and management of databases.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- The ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
- Planning and completion of work to agreed timescales
- Ability to relate well with a diversity of persons: pastoral staff, office colleagues, church leaders and members, volunteers and office visitors.

- Ability to work flexibly which may include late evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
