Job Title: Part-Time Vintage Film Camera Repair Assistant (Aged 16–17)

About the Role
RetroCameraFix Ltd is a creative small business specialising in restoring and selling vintage 35mm film cameras. We’re looking for a young, detail-oriented and motivated part-time assistant to help with cleaning, packaging, and light restoration work.
This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about film photography, eager to work with their hands, and interested in eventually learning how to fully repair classic cameras.
What You’ll Do
- Unpack and inspect incoming camera deliveries
- Clean and prep cameras for restoration
- Replace light seals (we’ll teach you how)
- Package finished cameras
- Assist with general workshop tasks and organisation
Over time, there is potential to:
- Learn camera disassembly and repair processes
- Test shutter speeds, light meters, and focusing
- Grow into a full repair assistant or apprentice role
Who We’re Looking For
- Aged 16 or 17
- Genuinely interested in film photography or vintage tech
- Great attention to detail
- Happy working with your hands on small, fiddly things
- Reliable, friendly, and willing to learn
- No experience necessary — full training provided
