Part-Time Teaching Assistant
Flexible hours. Real impact.
Are you looking for a part-time role where you can make a real difference to children’s lives? This Teaching Assistant opportunity offers flexibility, fulfilment, and the chance to join a supportive school team. Whether you're continuing a career in education or transitioning from a background in care, support work, or social services, this role could be a great fit.
The Role
As a part-time Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping children access learning, build confidence, and thrive in school. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups to help them stay engaged and make progress
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Assisting with classroom activities and adapting tasks to suit individual needs
- Working closely with teaching staff and following personalised support plans
- Helping pupils with routines, communication, and social skills
You’ll be matched to a setting where your experience and skills can have the most impact—whether that’s supporting children with SEND or working more generally in a classroom.
We welcome applications from people with experience in:
- Care, family support, or youth services
- Mental health or wellbeing roles
- Education or classroom-based support
You’ll bring empathy, calmness, and a practical, can-do attitude. A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or care is an advantage but not essential if you have equivalent experience and a genuine commitment to supporting children.
The School
The school values people who care deeply about children’s development. Class sizes vary, but all offer supportive teams, clear expectations, and a focus on inclusion and wellbeing.
Hours
8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Part-time work is also available—let us know your availability and we’ll work to find the right fit.
