Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. Part time position which may lead to full time work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance. This role requires experience on a crane/ grab wagon (essential). May be some utility work but not essential experience needed for that. Based in Lancaster and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Operate 6 wheeler/8 wheeler grab wagon, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Load and unload soil, hardcore & aggregate, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and understanding of collecting aggregate loads from local quarries.
- Provide basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for HGV.
- Valid CPC
- Valid tacho card
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations while driving.
