Part Time/Respite Foster Carers
We are looking to expand our fostering family!
Evergreen Foster Care is a highly specialised service that focuses on placing children from children’s homes into intensively supported, foster care placements. The aim of Evergreen Foster Care is to provide placements for children who would not be able to access standard foster care, but could, if adequately supported, make the transition to a family environment.
As children coming out of residential care usually have a range of difficulties, only one foster child can be placed with a family at any one time. This ensures that progress is not complicated by the competing needs of equally complex/challenging children, and that the fostering family maintains stability.
Do you have:
Regular, spare time over-and-above your current job, or are you retired?
Part-time fostering with Evergreen requires carers to have the child Friday after school to Sunday evenings (every fortnight) and 10 days during school holidays. You will be involved in the matching and introductions, and feel safe in the knowledge that you have the information you need.
Have you always considered fostering but have not been in a position to commit full-time?
This is a great option for people who have wanted to foster but not in the position to do it full time. Some of our part time carers do this alongside their other job, or some carers work part-time and have spare time on their hands.
Have you thought about how you and your family can enhance a child’s life and provide them with valuable opportunities?
You get to develop a relationship with one child over several years, and you will work directly with their full-time foster carer to provide a lasting support network.
Being a Part-Time Foster Carer for a child with Evergreen Foster Care is a well-paid, part-time professional role. You work alongside the child’s primary carer and have access to our therapeutic community.
We understand what a big responsibility is it to foster children, so our Part-Time Foster Carers receive a professional package of:
· Allowances of £160.60 per night, £321.20 for the weekend (based on a standard Friday night to Sunday evening)
· Additional birthday and Christmas allowance £85 x2.
· Paid Foster Talk memberships which provides independent advice, legal insurance, tax benefit and NI advice, 24/7 counselling services, max card discounts, free online events, financial advice and discounted tax return service.
