Part-Time Claims Assessor – Consumer Legal Support (Remote)
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Claims Assessor to join our flexible and remote team. This role involves assessing consumer claims — particularly those involving faulty motor vehicles, finance disputes, and warranty-related issues — and taking steps to resolve or escalate them. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, clear written communication, and a working knowledge of legal processes or consumer rights.
This is a part-time, self-employed opportunity (10–15 hours/week) with competitive hourly pay and bonus incentives for successful case outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate incoming client claims to determine legal merit and eligibility
- Communicate professionally with clients, dealers, finance companies, and third parties to seek early and amicable resolutions
- Conduct investigations into claims, gather supporting evidence, and prepare summary documentation
- File legal claims on behalf of clients (e.g., small claims N1 forms) and monitor their progress through the courts
- Maintain clear and accurate case records in line with data protection regulations (GDPR)
- Provide updates to clients on case status and respond to enquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex or escalated cases
- Stay informed on relevant legislation (e.g. Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 75) and industry trends
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in claims handling, legal support, or consumer dispute resolution is preferred
- A basic understanding of how motor vehicles operate is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Well-organised, self-motivated, and confident working independently
- Proficient in using email, Microsoft Word, and basic case tracking tools
- Able to handle confidential information discreetly and securely
Requirements:
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
- You must not have any unspent criminal convictions
- You must not hold any active interests or conflicts of interest with dealers, finance firms, or motor traders etc
- You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA)
