Therefore, we are seeking a passionate and caring individual to join our team as a Canine Carer Assistant and driver in our reputable and bustling daycare facility. As an assistant, you will be responsible for the well-being and happiness of our furry guests, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment throughout their stay. In addition to providing exceptional care to our beloved fury pals, you will be responsible for safe transportation of dogs to and from our facility. We are looking for a reliable and creative person, with excellent driving skills and a proactive attitude. Responsibilities:
Safely transport dogs to and from our facility using a company-provided vehicle.
- Ensure the comfort and well-being of dogs during transportation.
- Supervise and engage with dogs of all breeds and sizes, both indoors and outdoors.
- Monitor and maintain proper playgroup dynamics, ensuring all dogs are safe and comfortable.
- Provide daily exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization activities to promote their overall well-being.
- Assist with feeding, administering medications, and maintaining accurate records of each dog's behaviour and health.
- Confidently execute daily health checks and keep record of general health, behavioural changes or worries.
- Conduct basic grooming tasks such as brushing, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
- Follow established protocols for maintaining a clean and sanitized facility to ensure a healthy environment.
- Actively communicate with dog owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any concerns or questions.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and experience in driving larger vehicles, preferably with pet transportation experience.
- Previous experience in a professional dog care environment or related field.
- Excellent knowledge of dog behaviour, breed characteristics, and basic care, including understanding signs of stress and aggression.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle different temperaments and play styles.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with dog owners effectively.
- Must be trustworthy with a clean DBS certificate
- A reliable and responsible attitude towards fulfilling duties with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to bring a creative flare to tasks, and enrichment ideas with a beneficial purpose.
- Enjoy capturing moments of the dogs and keeping owners updated with what they are getting up to during their time with us.
- Competency with social media.
- Ability to be flexible within the role, as we cover many areas within the industry, such as walking and training. As we continue to grow as a company we are looking to branch into other avenues allowing room for career growth through the company.
- Flexibility to work on weekdays, weekends, and potential holiday shifts.
- A passion for animals, a calm demeanour, and the ability to remain patient and composed in various situations.
