Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a part time cook/ kitchen assistant This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality meals to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Open 7 days a week serving breakfast, brunch and lunch and evenings serving small plates and cocktails. Our kitchen student has gone to university so we are looking for someone to take on his role part time
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for meals, including chopping, slicing, and marinating as required.
- Cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Assist in meal preparation for special events or large orders as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Previous restaurant experience is advantageous, particularly in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in meal preparation.
