Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Paramedic to join our emergency response team based in Rotherham. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and emergency medical services, demonstrating the ability to perform physical examinations, administer basic life support, and effectively triage patients. This role requires a compassionate individual who can remain calm under pressure and provide high-quality medical assistance in various situations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients to assess their condition.
- Utilise medical terminology accurately when communicating with healthcare professionals and documenting patient information.
- Apply knowledge of physiology to understand patient needs and respond appropriately.
- Administer advanced life support techniques as required, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
- Maintain aseptic technique during medical procedures to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and other emergency services to ensure seamless patient care.
- Demonstrate experience in administering injections and other necessary treatments as per protocols.
- Provide compassionate patient care while ensuring adherence to established medical guidelines.
- Drive emergency vehicles safely and efficiently to transport patients when necessary.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritise patient treatment based on the severity of their conditions.
Qualifications
- Valid Paramedic certification or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and emergency medical practices.
- Proven experience in providing patient care within an emergency or hospital setting is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical examinations competently and with confidence.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques and ability to apply them effectively in emergencies.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
