Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator, who can turn their hand to carpet fitting, floor laying, and other general maintenance tasks to join our maintenance team accross 5 care homes in the north of Scotland.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and be adept at using various hand and power tools. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish on both interior and exterior projects. The successful applicant will work closely with other tradespeople to deliver exceptional results on time and to specification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of finishes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Keep work areas clean and organised throughout the duration of projects.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and preferences.
Skills
- Proficient in construction techniques related to painting and decorating, carpet fitting, floor laying and other joinery/ construction Jobs.
- Experience with hand tools such as brushes, scrapers, and sanders.
- Knowledge of carpentry principles as they relate to finishing work.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in construction painting methods for both interior and exterior applications.
