Background Information:
M in 14 years old and has cerebral palsy and physical disabilities. He is able to communicate verbally to a limited extend, and also uses a talker device. M is dependent on care for assistance with all activities of daily living.
M lives with his mother in East Sussex. He attends Chailey Heritage school. M’s mother and father are actively involved in his care but would like to receive some assistance with caring for M. M lives in a suitably adapted property, and had access to appropriate moving and handling equipment.
M is a lively, sociable, fun-loving boy who is extremely bright. He likes to be busy and to have lots of different activities to do during the day. He enjoys trips out in the community such as visiting the park and walks along the sea front in his wheelchair.
Main Responsibilities:
To provide assistance and support to M in his home and wider community. Ensure high standards of care as per the support plan. Assist with all activities of daily living whilst maximising M’s choice, independence and quality of life and acknowledging safety issues. Implement strategies and guidelines as recommended by healthcare professionals to best meet M’s needs.
The role advertised is for the specific hours detailed below:
Monday 17.00-20.00
Wednesday 17.00-20.00
Sunday 14.30-20.30
