Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Padel Assistant to join the team at East Grinstead Padel based at East Grinstead Sports Club. As the first point of contact for padel players and visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. This role combines customer service, booking management via our app, and active communication across group channels to ensure the smooth running of the padel courts and an excellent player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all members and visitors warmly, providing a high level of customer service.
- Manage padel court bookings using the club’s online booking app (training provided).
- Confidently answer enquiries in person, by phone, via email, and through the club’s group communication channels (such as WhatsApp or other platforms).
- Monitor and respond promptly to messages on group chats, providing accurate and timely information about bookings, sessions, and club updates.
- Process payments for bookings, equipment hire, and retail sales.
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception and padel area.
- Support with basic administrative tasks such as membership queries and event bookings.
- Assist with promoting padel sessions, tournaments, and club events.
- Communicate effectively with coaches, the club team, and members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor court usage and report maintenance issues as needed.
- Support stock management for padel equipment and retail items.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and club procedures.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication abilities (verbal and written), including managing group chats and digital platforms.
- Confident using mobile apps and online booking systems (training provided).
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine interest in sport, ideally padel or racket sports.
- Team player, but also able to work independently when required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a reception, customer service, or sports club environment is desirable but not essential.
- Experience managing online communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp groups, social platforms) is a plus.
- Knowledge of padel, tennis, or racket sports is advantageous.
Working Hours
- Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and occasional early mornings to support club opening hours and padel events.

Pay: £10.47-£12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
