Job Vacancy: Packaging Operative - Monday - Friday
We are looking for a Packaging Operative who shall be responsible for managing on shift packaging inventory and control activities. You will communicate the status of materials within the supply chain to the Supervisor and the wider business.
Primary functions
- Maintain the company’s product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks.
- Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete/redundant materials.
- Ensure that stock control is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
- Ensure incoming product is received and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
- Ensure that materials are ready and available for production as and when required.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies re highlighted, addressed and resolved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as internal Audit on stock
- Assist the Supervisor on the full stock profile on a weekly basis.
- Ensure stock consolidation.
- Ensure efficient use of space.
- Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are communicated to the buying team.
- Keep stock areas tidy and well organized, paying particular attention to the Health and Safety risks.
- Comply with the Company rules and regulations as details within the Company handbook.

Essential Skills:
- Good Microsoft Outlook and IT Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good personal organization and business administration skills.

- Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt
Desirable Skills:
- Previous packaging experience.
- Familiarity with WMS systems.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- FLT/PPT license.
Core Working Hours:
- Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM - 17:00 PM (28 days annual leave)
Occasional additional shifts as required to facilitate the needs of the business.
Other Information:
- Salary: £13.21 per hour. Overtime (after 42.5 hours at 125%) and unsociable hours (12:00 AM - 6:00 AM at +15%).
