Warehouse Operative / Order Picker
The Role
To perform a variety of tasks relating to the efficient operations of the wholesale and distribution at Hamish Johnston.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates equipment necessary to the job, which includes, but is not limited to: knives, cheese slicers, cutting boards and scales.
- Cutting, vac-packing and labelling cheeses. With cheese sizes varying from individual retail packs approx. 200g to larger pieces up to 10kg.
- Picking customer orders from stock including cheese, cured meats, olives and dry goods.
- Receives deliveries and places correctly in to stock ensuring dates are managed correctly.
- Follows all rotation procedures to ensure freshness.
- Assists customers and promotes good customer and associate relations through courtesy, service and appearance.
- Represent the company at the highest level with all customer contact.
- Maintains high standards of hygiene when handling products and using equipment.
- Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Cooperates and communicates with all associates to promote teamwork.
- Maintains the highest level of honesty, integrity, ethical and moral conduct at all times.
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- Communicates effectively with all contacts.
- Accepts and adapts easily to change.
- Lifts at least 25kg
Requirements
- Prior experience necessary.
- Ability to read and write in the English language.
- Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a work team.
- Sense of urgency.
- Ability to adapt & work quickly.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines.
- Preferable - a full, clean UK driving license
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £13.75 per hour
