Job Summary
I run a business from home selling books. I need an assistant to pack books according to orders received. The orders fluctuate - some weeks (like school holidays) there may be no orders at all, so I can still guarantee hours with jobs around the house such as car cleaning, gardening and maintenance so an ability to be a good 'all rounder' is desired.
This job does involve some heavy lifting when stock arrives and you will be expected to take deliveries, lifting stock from the ground to the first floor and organising the stock room. Consider this prior to an application please.
Duties
- Accurately pack products for shipment, ensuring that all items are securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct quality control checks on packed items to ensure they meet standards.
- Accept stock deliveries and move these from the door to first floor packing room.
- Assist with stock management, including picking and packing orders as required.
- Maintain an organised and clean workspace.
- When there are no orders; complete tasks to suit (e.g. car cleaning, gardening, house maintenance, driving etc.).
Experience
- No experience is required as full training will be given.
- A desire to learn quickly is essential as the role can grow to include taking orders online and invoicing processes.
- Being trustworthy is essential - much of the role is completed within my actual home!
