Are you ready to make a real difference to the people in your community?
Meet Beryl
Beryl is in her 80s and lives alone in a house filled with teacups, stories, and kindness. She thrives on routine, loves a good crossword, and enjoys her garden – especially when someone takes the time to ask about it. You might visit to help her get ready in the morning, prepare a simple meal, and spend a few minutes chatting over a proper cup of tea.
Meet Robert (and Reginald!)
Robert, a retired postman, is adjusting to life after cancer and the loss of his wife. His loyal Jack Russell, Reginald, keeps him company, but he needs a bit more support these days. You might help with medication, warm up a meal, check in on how he’s feeling – and make sure Reginald gets his daily trot around the garden.
You won’t be based in a care home or supporting one person – you’ll visit multiple people throughout your day, providing essential care, practical help, and much-needed companionship to individuals like Maude and Robert.
What You’ll Do - Every Visit Counts
You’ll provide personalised, in-home support to several clients across your shift. Your day might include:
- Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Medication assistance
- Meal prep and hydration
- Light housekeeping, errands, and laundry
- Mobility support and safe movement
- Attending appointments or short walks
- Companionship and emotional reassurance
- You will work with multiple clients each day, visiting them in their own home
What We’re Looking For
- A kind, empathetic, and dependable person
- No previous experience required – just the right attitude and willingness to learn
- Aged 18+ and eligible to work in the UK
- A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle (essential)
- Availability to work alternate weekends
- A genuine interest in supporting people to live independently
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work alone in the community
- A team player who values openness, reliability, and compassionate care
