Excel Housing Solutions are looking for a full time Support Worker to join our team. We are looking for motivated and dynamic forward thinking applicants who will support our clients in line with our ethos.
The successful applicant will work in partnership with statutory agencies to reduce the risk of homelessness, health issues, offending, and to reduce the risk of harm to the community.
The ideal candidate will be organised, flexible and must be able to handle all situations that arise due to the nature of our clients. You do not need to have previous experience in this role, as full training will be given, although being able to communicate with clients in a focused, and solution based way is important.
Whilst we do offer flexible working arrangements the successful candidate will also be required to work from a rota that has core hours each week covering between Sunday – Saturday, this is to meet the needs of the clients, and to enable you to work from a psychological informed approach.
36 hours per week on a rota basis (Usually over three 12-hour shifts)
Days could vary between Sunday – Saturday
Includes working bank holidays
Objectives of Post:
To assist in the delivery of high-quality accommodation based support services to vulnerable adults and families, including those at risk of homelessness in line with Excel Housing Solutions vision. Housing Related Support Workers (HRSW) will be required to work in partnership with statutory agencies to reduce the risk of homelessness, health issues, offending, and to reduce the risk of harm to the community.
Service Delivery:
- Assess referrals via referral system, conduct assessments and record all interaction on the EHS systems.
- To support and assist clients, as determined by their individual needs, identified through assessment and support planning. Review these plans on a regular basis and identify progress or slippage and amend these plans accordingly in order to encourage positive life changes.
- Develop specialist skills through training and other learning methods to effectively respond to need, e.g. issues affecting rough sleepers, ex-offenders, those with mental health issues and use these skills to work with clients using a trauma informed approach.
- Assist clients in managing their personal affairs, i.e Housing Benefit claims and encourage them to make positive changes to maximise their potential via education and employment services.
- To work within a team by supporting colleagues and attending team meetings and training when required with a positive outlook. Use reflective practice to look at the outcomes from your clients and share this with other staff members.
