Summary
We are seeking a passionate Nursery Supervisor to be a lead in our Toddler room at Teddy Bear Towers Day Nursery to cover maternity leave. This role is crucial in ensuring our nursery provides exceptional care and early education, aligning with our commitment to quality and child development.
Responsibilities
- To work with children in the setting, to provide all aspects of care, which may include washing, changing and feeding
- Uphold standards within the setting by adhering to all policies and procedures
- To liaise with manager/senior supervisors to provide the best outcomes for your training needs
- To respect confidentiality of information received
- To implement planned activities and opportunities that extend learning, to implement age related activities to cover specific programmes (Flying Start/Foundation Phase)
- To produce accurate and effective observations, so as to assess the children's progress
- To produce accurate individual developmental observations and liaise with the nursery nurses on planning activities
- Have input in planning activities, discuss your ideas and implement them
- To work in partnership with parents and carers at all times
- To work within the setting's health and safety guidelines and undertake specific tasks related to the safety and hygiene of the nursery
- To take part in daily "teeth cleaning programmes"
- Ensure rooms and outdoor play areas are clean and tidy
- Ensure all written records are up to date and signed
- To attend regular staff meetings
- To attend training sessions for continuous development
- Qualifications
- Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent is absolutely essential
- Proven experience in a similar role would be preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood education principles.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and staff.
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
