Hours: 9.30-3.00 Monday to Friday
Our Kitchen Assistant will support the Nursery Chef in one of the most important parts of our service delivery; supporting the safe and hygienic management of the on-site kitchen, which sits at the heart of our nursery and community Hub.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To support and advocate the mission and objectives of Cub, The Modern Nursery.
- To support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and the maintenance of a safe, clean, and hygienic environment
- To support the Nursery Chef in the preparation and delivery of balanced and nutritious meals for all children attending the nursery
- To work with the Nursery Chef and Management to design nutritious menus for both the Nursery and café provision.
- To undertake any other reasonable catering duties as requested by the Nursery Chef and Manager.
- To support the Nursery’s approach to healthy eating, including running cooking and food-related activities with children, and supporting the team, parents and potentially club users with child nutrition.
- To follow all Nursery policies and procedures.
- To take an inclusive approach with regards to special educational needs and disabilities.
- To be an effective and supportive team member who communicates professionally with others.
We are looking for someone who has:
A Food hygiene qualification, or a willingness to do it
An ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team
A responsible, positive, professional attitude, and an ability to act with integrity
Fluency in written and spoken English

Experience of working in a kitchen is desirable but not necessary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
