Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their development and well-being. As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the lead nursery staff in maintaining a clean and organised environment.
- Help with feeding, changing, and caring for children as needed.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
- Observe and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to the lead staff.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance professional development.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young children is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for child care is key.
- A relevant qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary.
- A genuine love for children and a commitment to their safety and development.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs within the nursery setting.
