Job Title: Preparation Supervisor
ReportsTo: Assistant Prep Manager/Manufacturing Manager
JobPurpose:
To fulfil daily preparation tasks as allocated by the Manager in asafe and efficient manner.
EssentialDuties & Responsibilities:
- To follow Managers instruction.
- Preparing mixes, ingredients preparation, products according to SOP following managers instructions carefully.
- Receiving transfer of ingredients from low care to high care, segregating, maintaining traceability and completing records to standard.
- Ingredients to be stored in chillers per allergen management system in place.
- Completing Batch code records, daily check records and transfer requirements.
- Ensuring correct mixes are issued to the production accordingly to the production plan. Keep up with 1 hour ahead of production making sure we have the required quantity.
- Minimize, report and record any waste of ingredients daily into the Weekly waste sheet and Food Management System (FMS).
- Develop a good line of communication with the team, especially with production managers, line supervisors, line leaders and line runners, Goods-In Team and any other departments to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- To engage, feedback as reviewing all plans for the next day production with production manager.
- To run reports for raw material and mixes requirements on FMS.
- To delegate daily tasks within the Prep Team.
- Be computer literate, knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, using email, Teams, Whatsapp to communicate with the team, colleagues, other departments and managers.
- In the event of shortages communicate straight away to the line leader, liaising with production manager/supervisor any last minutes changes in the production sequence.
- WIP Chiller end of day stock check, following FIFO procedures, applying use first labels for next day use as well as completing the correct daily documents.
- Request transfer of ingredients for the next day production using the correct documents.
- To report on any under usage or over usage of ingredients or mixes.
- Investigate over usage of raw material Root cause analysis.
- To engage with the NPD team on all launches and communicate any raw material or packaging challenges including any improvement recommendations.
- Do spot checks on ingredients prepared and any Mix SOPs to make sure Prep team following the processes.
- To report daily non-conformances of ingredients, mixes, etc. to the Asst Prep Manager/deputy.
- To work with the technical team to improve our Food Safety standards.
Teamwork
- Cover colleagues for short time periods when they are on holiday in high care prep dept.
- To maintain a good working atmosphere within the team and lead by example.
- Communicate with line management and other team members.
- Problem solver oriented.
Health& Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene
- To report any equipment damages or malfunction.
- Always maintaining high levels of Health & Safety and Hygiene.
- Follow a clean as you go policy.
- Ensure you and your team wear all PPE provided in the correct manner, and to ensure that company policies including hand washing and personal food safety rules are followed, for all.
- Ensure you and your team while handling knives please follow knife handling procedure/SOPs, including any updated documentation.
- Ensure you and your team report any incident or near misses immediately via the Company provided software or directly to your manager.
- Ensure you and your team use the trollies provided for any heavy ingredients and where heavy lifting is required, make sure the correct lifting procedures are followed.
- Ensure that your team have been fully trained on all relevant machines and processes.
- Ensure you and your team have received the correct training and signed any and all relevant training records/logs.
